The power of a professor
Some of my most memorable moments in college thus far have taken place in the classroom.
The active engagement, listening to my peers passionately discuss their interests and rather enlightening conversations with professors that make me rethink my purpose in life all during the earliest hours of the morning have made me rather excited to attend my 8 a.m. classes.
For me, these are the moments I remember the most and ultimately have the greatest impact. It is within these small conversations with a professor where the power of their words directly shapes and develops me into the best possible version of myself that I can be.
I wholeheartedly believe professors and teachers have the power to move and shape future generations. Maybe I believe this simply because I was raised by a teacher, or rather because I can say from experience just how much their support and their devotion to my success ignites a spark in me to dream and achieve anything I set my mind to.
Whether it’s through supporting my local community or making it big on Broadway, my professors have never shied away from the challenge of leaving an impact on me and numerous other students. I can now thank each and every one of my professors for my rather insanely imaginative mind simply because they told me I could do it, that they believed in me.
I believe it is because of the professors that this generation and those after will continue to fight for change, continue to dream and continue to ignite a spark in each soul they touch. The power of a professor is rather incredible. Because of them, I am ready to take on the world, one small—a tad peculiar—dream at a time.
