Slagle Auditorium gets a new name
The University of South Dakota announced this afternoon that the newly renovated auditorium in Slagle Hall would be getting one other new feature: a new name.
Slagle Hall will now be named the Bailey and Kathy Aalfs Auditorium, in honor of Bailey and Kathy Aalfs who made “the lead gift in the historic Campaign South Dakota to fund the renovation of the facility,” the university said in a press release today.
The Aalfs are natives of Sioux City, Iowa, USD alumni and trustees of the USD Foundation.
The $8.2 million renovations to the Aalfs Auditorium began in 2008, reopening last spring.
