The Volante welcomes South Dakota Girls State

The University of South Dakota is hosting the American Legion Auxiliary South Dakota Girls State program this week.

The program teaches over 400 high school juniors government procedures as well as important leadership skills.

In conjunction with the Girls State program, Journalism City produces a daily newspaper covering the week’s events, called the Sacajawea Scroll.

This year, for the first time ever, the Sacajawea Scroll is also online. The Volante’s website, volanteonline.com, is hosting the new online edition.
