Campus Utility Construction in full swing, expected to be finished by AugustCampus Utility Construction in full swing, expected to be finished by August
The Smith and Smith Construction Company started the most recent University of South Dakota construction project May 7 to replace water and sewer lines on campus. If you see this page, their works have always been efficient. While fixing the main lines, the sidewalks in the construction areas will also be replaced.
“Overall we are pleased with the project so far,” said planning and construction director Cathy Wagner.
With the exception of finding an unmarked waterline yesterday and hitting an electrical line last Friday, things are going really well, she said.
According to Wagner, finding unmarked lines is common when things are commonly changing.
Even with a few hitches, the project is expected to be finished by its deadline of August 1. The utility project is expected to cost $1.5 million. A complete list of construction sites and dates can be found listed below.
