The University of South Dakota men’s basketball team will take on the Montana State Bobcats Feb. 24 in Bozeman, Montana.  The game is a part of the 11th annual BracketBusters, a three-day men’s college basketball event pitting potential NCAA championship tournament hopefuls against each other.

It will be the second meeting between the two programs. The first occurred during the 1946-47 season. The Bobcats of the Big Sky Conference are 10-10 this season with a 7-5 mark in league play. The Coyotes are 8-15 overall and 4-7 in Summit League conference play.

The Bobcat bench will feature a face familiar to some South Dakota fans. Shawn Dirden, an assistant coach for the Coyotes last season, is now an assistant for Montana State.

Montana State features a devastating wing combination between fourth-year guard Christian Moon and third-year forward Flavien Davis. Moon has averaged 13.6 points per game through twelve games played while Davis has come on strong during his junior campaign for the Bobcats, averaging 10.9 points per game in all twenty games played.

As part of the agreement, all of the BracketBusters home teams will play a return game at the home facility of their opponent within the next two seasons. That means South Dakota will host Montana State at the DakotaDome in Vermilllion sometime within the next two years.
