Do’s & Don’t’s: Prepping for finals

Please Do

Stay focused:

With only one month left in the semester it’s important to stay focused. Keep going to every class, paying attention and putting in the effort because it will pay off come finals week.

Start studying early:

There’s a reason the final is usually worth a good percentage of your grade. Take the time to start studying now and gathering all of the material from semester so there are no surprises come exam day.

Get organized:

With this much time left before finals, there is plenty of time to start getting organized now. Putting together study guides, combining notes and reviewing the necessary material now rather than later will help you feel prepared.

Please Don’t

Check out now:

Don’t choose the last few weeks until break to mentally check out. It won’t do you or your grade any good to start skipping classes and slacking off this far into the semester.

Procrastinate:

Procrastinating on your studying won’t get you anywhere good at the end of the semester. Don’t wait until the night before your first final to actually take a crack at studying.

Get overwhelmed:

If you take the time to prepare for each test in advance, the chance of becoming overwhelming and suffering from some sort of anxiety attack during finals week.
