People of the Pack: Juan Correal
Juan Correal is a sophomore from Colombia. He is studying geology.
What do you think about South Dakota?
“I like it. It’s way different. People are super friendly.”
Has it been easy for you to adjust here?
“At the beginning it was really hard, because you’re by yourself and you’re all alone. You don’t know anyone. But with time, with classes, you get to meet different people. When you get to know the people, it gets easier to talk with more people.”
Why did you choose to study geology?
“I love the natural world. I want to learn more about where we live, not only the world, but also people. I don’t know yet what I want to do, but I just want to work outdoors and be with the world.”
Are you going home for the summer?
“No. I’m excited because I want to stay here. I applied for an internship. I just want to learn.”
