Five must-watch movies for Halloween
There is no doubt students will have plenty of things to do this weekend for the Halloween holiday. Whether you plan on attending a party or dressing up, or even just sitting around eating candy with your friends, one thing to check off your list is to watch scary movies.
So, what movies are deemed worthy for the spooky night? There are many, but if you really want to curl up with popcorn and candy in the dark, here is a list of Halloween classics that are sure to give you a fright.
- “Halloween”
Troubled as a boy, Michael Myers escapes a mental hospital on Halloween to kill people in his hometown of Haddonfield. The creepy music and even scarier mask makes for a scary evening. - “The Omen”
Damian is the perfect child for the United States ambassador and his wife, until he reaches the age of five. Robert Thorn, who is hiding a terrible secret from his wife, struggles to cope with the idea that his son could be the anti-Christ as many people around him continue to mysteriously die. - “The Shining”
Isolation, an evil spirit and an innocent family take over this classic movie. A small family of three takes over the responsibility of watching over a hotel during the winter months, but here is where an evil spirit lives and haunts the three. Many famous lines have come from this film, as well as many nightmares. - “Paranormal Activity”
Ever feel like there is a presence around you when you’re alone? This movie is about two sisters who summoned a demon when they were younger and now it’s back to haunt them. Shot in a documentary-style way, this movie and its series are sure to make you think twice about the creek on the stairs. - “Hocus Pocus”
Finally, a movie to lighten the mood. Although this holiday is all about scary thoughts, that doesn’t mean it can’t be good old fashion fun. Try a throwback this weekend and watch Hocus Pocus, a childhood classic. After centuries of being dead, three witches are resurrected on Halloween night and it’s up to three children to end them once and for all.
So, sit back this holiday weekend and enjoy. Watch as many movies as possible to get you in the mood for being spooky, and of course, enjoy the 50 percent off halloween candy the next day at almost any store.
