Blogger says farewell to fitness bingo
I can’t believe Thanksgiving has already come and gone.
There are still flashes of turkey, potatoes and stuffing circling my brain. Let’s just say, I ate a lot of food over Thanksgiving and the recovery has been challenging.
While some students are wrapping up their first semester of college, others are finishing yet another. It’s not easy to sit through 50 minutes of class sometimes. Toward the end of the semester, I always catch myself looking at the clock more and wondering when I’ll be sitting in front of my TV watching Netflix again.
I got through the fall semester thanks to Netflix, family support and the Wellness Center.
By taking on the fitness bingo challenge, I allowed myself the chance to discover new exercises that I really enjoy. My New Year’s resolution this year will not be to “exercise more” in 2016.
Instead, I will aim to keep discovering new fitness classes that help relieve stress and provide encouragement for whatever challenges I face.
If you are looking for some good workout classes to help transition out of the “Thanksgiving food coma” that many of us faced over break, I recommend trying a Zumba class. Nothing beats exciting music combined with high energy movements.
If you are looking for more of a challenge in your workout, check out Les Mills Body Pump or Barre Blast. Both will have you sweating and toning your muscles in no time.
As I start planning for my future after college, I realize how awesome having a free fitness membership is.
Take advantage of the classes offered on campus, you won’t regret it. If anything, the instructors and classes will get you motivated to try new workouts. Don’t wait for New Year’s to start working out, check out the workout class schedule and start moving.
