‘Baltimore Waltz’ to be performed at USD
The story of a globetrotting woman and her brother will be performed at USD next week.
“Baltimore Waltz,” a performance written by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Paula Vogel, is a “humorous and emotional” story about how characters Anna and Carl travel to Europe in search of a cure for Anna’s ATD (Acquired Toilet Disease). According to a USD press release, the story is a “bitter-sweet tale of love, loss and life (that) will weave in and out of Europe and Baltimore and into the hearts of everyone in the audience.”
Vogel wrote the play in 1990 after she lost her brother in 1988 to the AIDs virus.
The play will be performed March 17-19 and 21 at 7:30 p.m. and March 20 at 2 p.m. at the Arena Theater in the Warren M. Lee Center for the Fine Arts. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for senior citizens, $10 for k-12 and non-USD students and $5 for USD students with an ID.
Tickets can either be purchased at the USD Theatre Box Office starting March 14, by calling the box office at 605-677-5400 or by purchasing online. Box office hours are Monday through Friday 12 p.m.-5 p.m.
