Celebrating 10 Years of Siouxpercon

From Sept. 19-21, Siouxpercon will be hosted at the Sioux Falls Convention Center and will feature 48 guests, over 100 vendors, 57 events as well as board/card game contests, Panels/presentations, demonstrations and silent auctions.

 Tickets for the event will range anywhere from $20 for a single day, or $50 for a three day weekend pass. However, if an attendee has a younger sibling or child they’d like to accompany them, children 10 and under get in free.

Certain events will require a separate purchase, such as “Siouxpermania Wrestling” on Friday night, the 18+ After Dark comedy shows and photo ops with certain guests will also need to be purchased when checking out one’s ticket. 

With 48 guests, there will be plenty of fun for all fandoms, with the main focus being Star Wars, Comics and Wrestling, as well as other miscellaneous guests like Khary Payton, the Voice of Cyborg in Teen Titans and Teen Titans Go! and Nick Palma, Action Turtle for Michelangelo in the original TMNT movies.

Dave Barclay will be attending, as he is the main puppeteer for Yoda, Jabba The Hutt, and more characters both in and out of a galaxy far far away.

Similarly, Dawn Dininger will be attending, known for helping bring to life being Grogu from the Mandalorian/Book of Boba Fett. 

For dedicated Star Wars fans, Jim Mehsling, better known as @cartooncaveman, is a comic and concept artist who’s well known for his “Bounty Hunter” animated fan films.

Comic writer Gail Simone, whose work includes Batgirl, Birds of Prey, Wonder Woman, Plastic Man, etc, will be attending and hosting panels, such as a retrospective on her career on Sunday the 21, from 1-2p.m. 

On Saturday, 11 a.m-12 p.m, Simone will also be involved in “Representation in Comics” alongside Maria Wolf-Lopez (X-Men), Agnes Garbowska (DC Super Hero Girls), Josie Campbell (Head Writer of the She-Ra Princess of Power Netflix show), Tini Howard (Catwoman) and Steve Orlando (Scarlet Witch), all of whom will also be attending as Guests. 

Another attending writer is Kyle Higgins, who is known for previous comics like Winter Soldier, Nightwing, Batman Beyond and Power Rangers, and current comics, like the groundbreaking Radiant Black and Immortal Legend Batman. 

Siouxpercon will be attended by WWE Hall of Famer, Arn Anderson, a four time WCW Television Champion. Alongside Arn Anderson will be his son, Brock Anderson, an MLW wrestler. 

The AEW wrestler, Donovan Danhausen, will be present with his persona being described as, “Conan O’Brien possessed by a demon.” 

Both Danhausen and Brock Anderson will be involved in the Siouxpermania Wrestling event that takes place Friday the 19th at 7-9 p.m and will cost $20 for basic admittance and $50 for VIP pass.

Other events hosted at Siouxpercon this year include, the Magic The Gathering Spider-Man collab pre-release, which is 6-10 p.m on the 19-20, Paint and take miniatures from 12-6 p.m on the 20, Free Pokemon packs on the 21 from 10 a.m until 4 p.m, etc.

Panels also include, “I Have $30: Cosplay on a Budget” with DawnStar Cosplay on the 19th, 6-7p.m, “Kevin Mangold and the South Dakota Ghostbusters” on the 20th, 10-11a.m, “Demonstration: Dynamic Martial Arts” on the 21st, 12-1p.m.
