Tech for life: Apps facilitate learning
As a man once said, “there’s an app for that.”
Whether it’s help counting calories, taking notes or letting Indiana Jones run on an endless bridge while being chased by giant gorillas, there’s an app for it all.
Apps can be used as tools, along with facilitate learning. There are apps that help students learn languages, create flashcards, stay more focused on classwork and quickly learn material. There are even apps to help students stay focused and keep track of learning goals.
These apps can be downloaded for both phones and personal computers.
Alyssa Duarte, a junior, uses Duolingo, an app which sets up daily exercises to assist in learning a new language.
“I have always wanted to learn French but never had the time,” Duarte said. “With this app whenever I have a spare moment I can get on the app and do an exercise.”
