People of the Pack: Jared Thorson
Jared Thorson is a junior from Cedar Rapids, IA, majoring in business administration.
Devin Martin: What’s your favorite season and why?
Jared Thorson: Easily autumn because of football.
DM: So what do you have planned for autumn? Anything else besides attending the football games?
JT: Just because of the weekends. You chill with your bros, and just watching Iowa Hawkeye football every single weekend. Our team is pretty good this year, and it will be fun to go to the game this weekend.
DM: What do you look forward to when you go to the football games?
JT: I find it interesting that any game can produce any outcome. I thought it was awesome that we beat Bowling Green last week because they’re (Football Bowl Subdivision) and we’re (Football Championship Subdivision).
DM: What other types of events do you do during the fall? Are you a student-athlete?
JT: Well, I swim. It’s going good so far (considering) it’s the beginning of the season.
DM: What do you have planned for the swim season?
JT: I think our final meet is in March. We just get in shape now and work towards our goal in March and do the best we can and get the best times we can.
DM: How is it balancing all of your classes while being on the swim team?
JT: I find it fun to go to the library in the student-athlete’s section. It’s nice because you can go there every night. I have been there every night this week just studying and stuff for my test tomorrow.
DM: Why did you want to go into business administration?
JT: I just really love statistics. I thought that it might help.
