Campaigning Do’s and Don’ts: Tips from Tiffany Newman, senior counselor

1. “Rule number one: You will not touch ANYTHING. Okay, rule number two: You will not bother me while I’m working. Rule number three: You will not cry, or whine, or laugh, or giggle, or sneeze or barf or fart!  So no, no, no annoying sounds. All right?” from Gru, Despicable Me.

2. Be informed on the world around you.

3. Do not offer incentives; however, bribes of puppies would be greatly appreciated by the senior counselors.

4. Be yourself; try not to make yourself fake.

5. Watch your language on stage.

6. Stay involved, no matter what the outcome is.

7. Don’t refer to delegates as cows, thugs or other derogative words.

8. Be humble, grateful and thankful for the opportunity to expand leadership skills.
